Itinerary

Arrive in Cochin, where you’ll be welcomed and transferred to your hotel. Spend the day exploring Cochin’s mix of modern and historic attractions. Visit the Fort Kochi area, renowned for its colonial architecture and colorful murals. Witness the famous Chinese Fishing Nets, one of the city’s iconic sights, and explore St. Francis Church, India’s oldest European church. Walk through the vibrant lanes of Jew Town to see the Paradesi Synagogue and shop for spices and antiques. Wrap up the day with a visit to Mattancherry Palace, known for its impressive murals depicting Hindu mythology.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic 4-hour drive to Munnar, Kerala’s famed hill station known for tea gardens and lush landscapes. En route, enjoy stops at Cheeyappara and Valara Waterfalls for breathtaking views and photo opportunities. As you approach Munnar, take in the picturesque rolling hills covered in tea plantations. After checking into your hotel, spend the evening at leisure, perhaps taking a walk through the serene tea gardens nearby. Overnight stay in Munnar.

After breakfast, start your day with a visit to the Eravikulam National Park, home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. This park offers incredible views and a chance to explore the natural beauty of the Western Ghats. Next, visit the Tea Museum to learn about the history and processing of tea, complete with a tasting session. Continue to Mattupetty Dam for boating and enjoy scenic views of the surrounding hills. Later, visit Echo Point, a spot famous for its echo phenomenon, and Kundala Lake for some peaceful moments by the water. Overnight stay in Munnar.

After breakfast, drive to Thekkady, known for the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and spice plantations. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and then visit a spice plantation to learn about the spices Kerala is famous for, like cardamom, pepper, and cloves. In the afternoon, take a boat safari on Periyar Lake where you might spot elephants, deer, and exotic birds along the shoreline.

Spend the evening enjoying a Kalaripayattu or Kathakali show, Kerala’s traditional martial art and dance forms. Overnight stay in Thekkady.

After breakfast, drive to Alleppey, often called the “Venice of the East” due to its beautiful backwaters. Check in to your traditional houseboat, where you’ll spend the day cruising through Alleppey’s backwaters. Relax as you pass lush paddy fields, coconut palms, and charming villages. Enjoy a delicious Kerala-style lunch on board, and immerse yourself in the peaceful ambiance of the backwaters. As the evening falls, the houseboat anchors, and you can enjoy a candlelit dinner onboard. Overnight stay on the houseboat in Alleppey.

After breakfast on the houseboat, disembark and drive back to Cochin. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to explore or shop in Cochin before heading to the airport, marking the end of your memorable Kerala journey.
