Itinerary

Your journey begins as you arrive at Bagdogra Airport (IXB) or New Jalpaiguri (NJP) Railway Station. From here, enjoy a picturesque drive to Gangtok (approx. 4-5 hours), passing through lush green landscapes and the meandering Teesta River. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and relax. In the evening, take a leisurely walk along MG Marg, the bustling heart of Gangtok. This lively street is lined with cafes, local shops, and cultural vibes, making it the perfect place to soak in the city’s charm. Enjoy a warm cup of local Sikkimese tea before heading back to your hotel for the night.

After breakfast, embark on a scenic excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft), a mesmerizing glacial lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks. Depending on the season, you may witness a frozen lake in winter or a beautifully reflective waterbody in summer. You can also enjoy a yak ride along the lake’s edge for a unique experience. Next, visit the Baba Harbhajan Singh Mandir, dedicated to an Indian Army soldier revered as a saint. The temple carries an interesting legend and is a must-visit for those interested in history and spirituality. Optional: If permits are available, visit Nathula Pass (Indo-China border), a thrilling high-altitude experience at 14,140 ft. (Closed on Mondays & Tuesdays). Return to Gangtok by late afternoon and enjoy some leisure time. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

After breakfast, check out and drive towards Darjeeling (approx. 4 hours). Enjoy the scenic journey as you pass through misty hills, lush tea gardens, and small hamlets. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel and relax. In the evening, take a stroll along Mall Road, where you can shop for Darjeeling tea, woolen clothes, and Tibetan souvenirs. The town’s charming colonial-era architecture and cool mountain air make it a delightful experience. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Start your day early with a trip to Tiger Hill (around 4 AM) to witness the magnificent sunrise over Mt. Kanchenjunga. This is one of the most breathtaking views you will ever see, as the golden rays illuminate the third-highest peak in the world. On the way back, stop at: Batasia Loop & War Memorial, a beautifully designed railway loop with stunning views. Ghoom Monastery, one of the oldest Tibetan monasteries in Darjeeling. Return to the hotel for breakfast before continuing with sightseeing:

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute – Learn about mountaineering legends, including Tenzing Norgay. Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park – Home to endangered species like the red panda and snow leopard.
